I probably spend too much time thinking about what it's like to live with a piece of artwork that another human touched, looked at, and thought about as they made it. My position is that physical artworks retain and transmit touch, thought, and time, and that living with such artworks provides a bit of dignity, humanity, contemplation, and beauty. An artwork that gives these qualities to a home never uses them up — an extraordinary thing to think about when many other things must be consumed to be enjoyed. 

I understand that pricing is relative, and what may be reasonable to one person is still above another's budget. But I hope that they are still a way in to collecting, living with (and gifting) art.
